Reviving my blog - with a mini-book!

Welcome back to my blog.  I am reviving my blog to showcase the RikRak Ravers mini book challenge. Inspired by the lovely Dee, who provided very professional instructions and lots of encouragement, I am really pleased with the end result "Places to Remember".

The papers used are from one of my all time favourite collections, Times and Seasons by Echo Park. When I first saw all that stitching I was horrified but I really enjoyed it!!

The photos and places included are from my favourite parts of the UK.  The pocket on the inside cover contains tags featuring my three favourite places to stay on holiday; Morton of Pitmilly near St Andrews, Harebell Cottage on the Antrim Coast and Herrington Park near York.

The first section of the book deals with my native county of Yorkshire, which I dearly love to visit.

The next step on the journey is Cornwall, and the beautiful area around St Ives. The flaps in the album were great for journalling and for the odd smaller photo such as the one of my favourite lighthouse, Godrevy

.
And now, probably my most favourite place for a holiday, the beautiful Causeway Coast of North Antrim, with its spectacular long windswept beaches and amazing coastal scenery.

That flap came in handy for journalling again!

White Park Bay and Portstewartstrand - these are the most fantastic beaches, we like to walk for miles and enjoy the fresh air and the sounds of the waves!!

I loved doing all the stitching in this album - so therapeutic!

And now on to the Lake District where Bob & I had a great weekend to celebrate our Silver Wedding and my birthday - we sneaked off while Beth was in Iceland!

A swirl this time - quite into this stitching on LOs

And where else to end up but my adopted home of Scotland!!   We live within reach of so many beautiful places, it was so difficult to choose my favourites.  I settled for St Andrews, Glamis Castle and Nardinis in Largs- the ultimate seaside cafe!!

And for the final picture? Well, home, of course, and that fabulous view from the back of the house, The journalling says it all really.

This really was a fantastic prtoject, thanks again, Dee, and my fellow Ravers for a great challenge.  I can't wait to make another one - but I have the small matter of a holiday to California first!

Not sure I could have coped with all the hand stitching myself but you did a great job.
Maggie.
